REVA, India's first zero polluting electric vehicle
(EV) was launched in Pune today. The REVA Electric Car Company (RECC),
introduced three variants of REVA namely the REVA , REVA A/C and
REVA Classe, which will be available in Ugra Raj Enterprises on
Sholapur Road, Wanowire.
Priced at Rs.2.67 lakh, 3.15 lakh and 3.47 lakh
respectively, RECC managing director Chetan Maini said that prices
would decrease by Rs.40,000 if the Maharashtra government wavered
sales tax on EVs. "Capable of running for 80kms on a full charge.

REVA is the future of environmental friendly transportation
in the country. " he added. Within a top speed of 65 kms/hr, the
REVA battery attains full charge after five-and-a half hours. "Soon
we plan to introduce new models including REVA Sahara (for the physically
challenged). A convertible and a more powerful pick-up-vehicle."
Maini said.
Boasting of running costs of a mere 40paise per
kilometer, Pune was first of REVA's launches Maharashtra. The EV
will soon be introduced in Sangli, Eastern Maharashtra and Mumbai.
